Flower Walls and Name Sign Cake Table Backdrop for birthday or shower.
We’ve hit the big ONE at the Gee House. I accidentally created a tradition of baptizing the littles at the time of their first birthday party. Well not at the party but on the same day. It was not something I intended when I did it with my daughter but definitely something I continued with my son and now our youngest. Seemed fitting to knock to birds with one stone since we typically do something fairly big for first birthdays, right? So for Mila I went with a blush gold and white color scheme inspired by her nursery name sign I debuted last year on the blog. The name sign was a big hit and I felt it would be the perfect piece for the cake table backdrop.
The Ceremony
The ceremony, like most, was beautiful. Family and friends came to witness and share in this milestone with us. We, Mila, is truly blessed to be surrounded by people who love and care for her like this. For the ceremony I used the gown I had custom made for my older daughter 8 years ago. The gown is a stunning ivory silk with a laced overcoat and matching bonnet. For the occasion, I wore white pant suit inspired by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, AOC white cape blazer. Details below.
The Celebration
The celebration was just as beautiful as the celebration. We mingled with family and friends in our home with music from a Spanish band that travelled from Houston. My husband roasted a pig, grilled, and I provided Bellinis and other drinks of choice. We ate, we drank, we danced, we celebrated.
