Our Nursery Reveal

I can’t believe baby G is one month already and I’m excited to finally share her nursery.

The nursery is not your typical nursery since we decided to put her in the master with us for at least a year. With my last two babies we had a separate nursery that didn’t really get used until they were about 1 or 2. As babies they slept with us in the master in a bassinet then a crib (yes we moved the crib from the nursery to the master). So, to help use our money and space more wisely this time we put the nursery in the master. Different but functional.

The Colors + Theme

All the blush and gold feels. I choose blush and gold for the colors of the nursery with a floral accents.

The Furniture

The crib and dresser are white with gold accents which matched perfectly with the color scheme.

The glider is a glider/recliner and has been a huge life saver during feedings. I choose gray since it was neutral and easier to maintain then white. I use blush/gold pillow and throw to tie into the rest of the baby decor.

Newton Baby Mattress

For the crib mattress we are using the Newton Baby. Unlike your typical crib mattress this one is completely breathable with it’s breath-through technology. It’s my favorite feature of the mattress. As a parent we want to keep our babies safe. SIDS is a big concern for me, as it is for most parents and I often lose sleep by checking on her just to make sure she hasn’t rolled over or is still breathing.  But now, I can rest easier knowing that the crib mattress is breathable.

My older kiddos put this mattress to the test (as did I). As soon as I received the mattress, I smushed my face into it and it was in fact breathable. I asked my two other kids to smush their face into the mattress as well and they were also able to breath. But just to make sure I wasn’t kidding myself, I taped some strips of tissue to the mattress and put a fan on the opposite side. The result, air flowed through moving the strips of tissue. The breath-through technology also allows air to circulate helping to regulate baby’s temperature for a more comfy sleep. Another great feature is that it’s washable, yes – the entire mattress, core and cover, are washable.

Want to know more? Visit Newton Baby and check out their amazing mattress. I highly recommend the Newton Baby to anyone who is in the market for a crib mattress.

The Decor

One of my favorite decor items is her wooden name sign. If you haven’t heard of Trendy Timber, you should check out their etsy shop (PS they will be launching a website soon).

Wooden Name Sign Details

Background – 66 white
Milena – Simplicity in 38 blush
astrid – Madina all lowercase in 67 Gold

flower leaves in 67 gold
flowers in 39 & 46 blush/pink
flower center 64 ivory

I put the sign over the dresser with floral accents for a fancier look and over the crib for a simple look. I must say I liked both and can’t decide which to go with.

The Tech

Two things I think every nursery needs are a baby monitor and a sound machine. Although I think everyone needs a sound machine to get a good restful sleep. I began using the sound machine with my other kiddos and to this day they still sleep with one, I even turned my teenager on to a sound machine.

Hatch Rest

The Hatch sound machine has worked wonders to help get baby to sleep. I love that I can program it using my phone. I can customize color and sound which is convenient when I’m in another room or can’t reach it. The only drawback is that I can’t stream my own sounds or lullabies like some other machines on the market. A close second was the project nursery sound machine which does allow for bluetooth streaming.

Nanit Camera

For the baby monitor I’m using the Nanit. I was hesitant to pay an arm and leg for this monitor but after much research and some saving I decided on the Nanit.  I love the camera but mostly the Insights. With Insights, I get daily activity reports with stats on  how long she slept, room temperature and humidity, how often she was attended, time she spent awake, and video summary. The nightlight feature is extremely helpful for those middle of the night feedings and wakes.
