A smile is free so flash it like confetti. Feel more confident sharing your smile with white teeth. As an adult one of my biggest insecurities are my not so white teeth. I drink coffee at least once a day, sometimes three times a day plus coke/pop and wine. All of which wreak havoc on my teeth. 1. The Imprints
Smile Brilliant sends everything you need to your house. In your kit you will find two very important things. The material for making your imprints and the gels for your custom fitted whitening trays. You will start by making imprints of your teeth. This was fairly easy but can be tricky. I did have to redo it once. Once you have your imprints mail them back in the enclosed self-addressed envelope. Easy Pessy.
The trays will take about a week to come to your house after you’ve shipped your imprints.
2. Whitening
Once you receive your molds you are set to whiten. Start by brushing your teeth with your brush ONLY, do not use toothpaste.
- Place whitening gel in one tray
- Dry your teeth
- Slip tray with gel on teeth
- Repeat for other tray
- Wait 60 min
- Remove molds
- Brush teeth WITH toothpaste
- Rinse trays
3. Desensitizing
If you experienced sensitivity after whitening your teeth you will want to desensitize. This also helps protect your teeth and preserve them in between sessions.
- Place desensitizing gel in tray
- Slip tray with gel on teeth
- Repeat for other tray
- Wait 20 min
- Remove trays
- Rinse mouth // DO NOT BRUSH TEETH
- Rinse trays
Tips:
At some point my teeth were extremely sensitive to the point of being uncomfortable. I found that using a tad bit of desensitizing gel before whitening helped ease the sensitivity. I simply put a small amount on my finger and ran across my teeth.
Conclusion
I found that adding this to my nighttime routine made it easier. For example; I’d do mine while I watched Netflix, did a facial, or shower. I’d leave the gel on for an hour to an hour and half for each session. It did take some trial and error and while, they are not as white as I’d hope they did lighten a shade or two. Overall, I’m happy with the results.
