Fall/Winter Must Have Corduroy Pants

Corduroy bottoms are must have pants for the season. They are beyond comfortable and warm. These pants are currently trending in many cuts but favs are the high-waist. I’m also loving the wide-leg pant. I used to wear wide-leg pants in high school (I thought I was super cool) and they bring back nostalgic feelings every time i wear them.

Wide Leg Corduroy Pant

Channeling my inner Donna (from that 70’s show) but how awesome are these pants? I absolutely love them. The wide leg, the color, the corduroy, everything! They are beyond comfortable and warm. Here I wore them with a western bootie, which I’ve had on repeat, and “living the dream” top that has 70’s vibes. Perfect match to the pants.

Straight Leg Corduroy Pant

Like the awesome pant above, these are just comfy and warm. Love the deep jewel tone of these pants. Paired them here with the same bootie (ps: bootie is AHHHMAZING! Highly recommend) and a tee for a casual comfy look.

I’M OUT THAT H-TOWN

This past weekend my daughter had a cheer completion in Houston. So, in true family fashion we packed the SUV and headed south to support her and her team. The weekend was a busy one with super early morning (team meet at 6:45) that killed me entirely. My baby doesn’t even wake up that early. Followed by seeing family, friends, and a trip down memory lane.

The house I grew up in

I was born and raised in a Houston. My parents lived in a small house, and when I say small – I mean SMALL house, right outside downtown in a neighborhood called Magnolia. If you’re not familiar Magnolia is basically the hood, located between Navigation and Harrisburg. I lived in the Avenues, Ave L, to be exact. I lived here till I was a teenager before heading over to Pecan Triangle which was just on the other side of Harrisburg.

House I lived through high school

Growing up Magnolia seemed perfect to me, I loved where I lived, the people were nice, a good sense of community, neighbors had each others backs and we played outside. I grew up with kids my age playing kickball, riding bikes, hide and seek. I really I had a great childhood despite being really poor. Although, I didn’t exactly know I was dirt poor at the time.

Best snowcones in Houston!

Refresqueria Tampico

My mom didn’t drive (and still doesn’t) so we walked to school, the corner store, refresqueria, park, pool, everywhere. One of my favorite memories was walking to the refresqueria during the summer in the evening. My mom would get her lotto tickets and I would get a raspa aka a snow cone. My favorite flavor was leche (milk), rainbow, and bubblegum. Also loved corn in a cup and nachos.

Memo Record Shop

Memo’s Record Shop

This shop is an icon in Magnolia, couldn’t say if its an icon in Houston but its fairly notable shop in the hood. Known for selling classic Mexican regional music and the hottest band concert tickets in town.
