Style // Friday Favs – Mother’s Day Dress

Happy (early) Mother’s Day to all the mommas out there.

Yesterday I celebrated an early mother’s day, no, not the Mexican mother’s day but Muffins with Mom with my youngest’s prek-4 class. The teachers do such an amazing job working with the children the months leading into May. They learned three songs so they can sing to mom, thank you Ms Music Teacher. And, the classroom teachers work diligently at making a little keepsake book which contains cute “my mom likes….” phrases and pictures from the year. As well, as making a memory plate. I actually remember making a similar plate for my mom in school which I have misplaced in my many moves.

Memory Plate

To begin, we share a light breakfast with the kids and they show us the plate they created. They are then called up to the front where they sing their beautiful little hearts out. Finally, the teacher reads a favorite phrase from the keepsake book and hands the them the book to give to us. My little one, said “my mom likes to take naps” bless his little heart. Guilty as charged! While, I was slightly mortified everyone got a good laugh. To my defense I had a rough first trimester.

Outfit Details

I wore a colorful Lilly dress with gold sandals and a gold necklace. The dress is super comfortable, fresh and NOT maternity. Which is why I made it this week’s Friday favorite. If you are looking for something to wear on Mother’s Day or looking for a last minute gift, this is a good pick. Hope all the moms reading have a wonderful mother’s day and weekend. Keep doing what you do mommas.
