Breastfeeding + Evivo

Baby and I have been on our breastfeeding journey for about eight weeks now. I breastfeed my previous babies but stopped at about four weeks, right before returning to work. This time I’m not working so I have committed to nursing for at least three months. We are half way through our journey but it hasn’t been easy since we are dealing with silent reflux and colic.

Seeing your newborn in anguish after a feeding, gaging and gasping for air is heartbreaking. You feel hopeless in not being able to help. I was so frustrated I almost gave up on nursing. But after doing some research I found that babies need probiotics just like we do. What I found more interesting was that babies who are born via c-section do not get B.infantis, a good bacteria strain that helps the baby’s gut and is received through natural birth. Fortunately, we found Evivo, a probiotic that restores B.infantis into baby’s gut.

Silent Reflux

Silent reflux occurs when the acidic stomach content comes up the esophagus. Unlike with gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, infants with silent reflux do not spit up or vomit the stomach acid but swallow it instead. This can cause a painful burning sensation.

Colic

Colic is a bit of a mystery. The term applies to any healthy, well-fed infant who cries more than 3 hours a day, more than 3 days a week, for more than 3 weeks.

B.infantis

B.infantis helps reduce the harmful bacteria that is linked to conditions such as colic, eczema, allergies, obesity, and diabetes.

Evivo

Evivo is a daily probiotic powder with B.infantis. The powder is mixed with breastmilk and in turn it releases nutrients in breast milk to create a protective environment in baby’s gut. In addition to developing baby’s metabolism and immune system and builds the foundation for good health that lasts a lifetime.

BABY GUT CHECK

How do you know if baby’s gut is healthy? Thankfully, there’s now a simple 3 question Baby Gut Check you can take that will reveal if baby is one of 9 out of 10 infants

missing B. infantis :

  1. Were you OR your baby born via C-section?
  2. Were you OR your baby given antibiotics pre-delivery or post pregnancy?
  3. Does your baby have diaper rash OR 5+ watery poops per day?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above you can try Evivo by using the codes below to get discount.

$20 off 8-week or greater starter kit: BLOG9152

  7. It all starts in the gut. Not only baby’s gut, but mom and mom’s mom, too. Babies can get their internal environment passed down from up to 2 generations prior. Fascinating stuff as you begin researching it. It’s so important for everyone to be taking probiotics and staying away from things that kill the gut flora, such as antibiotics and more.

My baby had reflux but I did not know about this probiotic. It shouldn’t great – I’ll have to remember it in case we ever need it in the future.
