How cute is this dress? I love it. It is fresh and very flattering for the bump and NOPE it’s not a maternity dress. YAY! Also, have another free people dress just scroll down. So, this past week has been a little hectic for me with Memorial Weekend, end of school, end of season parties, cheer try outs, my diagnosis with gestational diabetes and scheduling appointments – lets just say I’m still sane. The coming weeks will be just crazy and I anticipate it will remain this way for sometime.
Family Life
End of School
All my kiddos are officially out for summer! yay for me (or not). The oldest has officially ended his sophomore year, the second oldest ended first grade with a bang, and the youngest graduated from Pre-K 4.
Cheer Tryouts
My daughter is excited to be back in the cheer gym after taking nearly year off. She fractured her elbow at the end of the 16/17 season and I took this as a sign of divine intervention. I decided to skip out on tryouts this past season (17/18) but WE’RE BACK! She has been working hard the past month to clean up her level one skills. Now we anxiously await for her team placement call. COME ON CA (cheer athletics) #CallACAt!!!
UPDATE: She will be a Bobcat for the 18/19 season! So proud of her and excited to see her grow this coming year.
Pregnancy Update // Week 30 – Gestational Diabetes
Another amazing dress from free people. This one is a maxi dress so I paired with a small wedge heel and yes it is fresh, perfect for summer days. Unfortunately, I did not pass my three hour glucose test and now I have been referred to a specialist and an outpatient diabetic center. I did not have this with my first two pregnancies so this is all new to me but after speaking with the specialist I feel a tad bit better. Apparently, all pregnant women have some level of insulin intolerance. The placenta makes an enzyme (don’t quote me on that) that creates the insulin resistance and for some women it is more then in others. In many cases, this can lead to diabetes later in life and it can affect the baby plus cause other health concerns. Needless to say I am now pricking my finger at least three time a day and have modified my diet. Luckily, since I began checking my blood my levels have been normal, my little silver lining.
